Omar and Heather Awad are both physicians with deep experience in leadership, private practice operations, and real estate investing. They began investing in real estate in 2006 and have steadily expanded their portfolio from single-family and small multifamily homes to commercial properties and syndications.
Since 2017, they have been active limited partners in over 10 real estate syndications comprising more than 10,000 units across the U.S. These investments span multifamily housing, self-storage facilities, senior living and memory care centers, and commercial real estate. Their personal and Oculus Capital portfolios include holdings in Minnesota, Michigan, New York, and Connecticut.
In 2023, they launched Oculus Capital LLC, a physician-owned real estate investment company focused on acquiring and operating larger multifamily properties. Oculus Capital helps physicians and other high-income professionals build long-term wealth through strategic, tax-efficient real estate investments. The firm emphasizes transparent operations, strong fundamentals, and community-building among investors.

As President of Goldenrod Homes and Co-Founder of Oculus Capital LLC, she brings hands-on expertise in asset management—from leasing and renovations to property operations. Heather oversees many of the property management companies that run Oculus Capital’s apartment communities, ensuring strong performance and strategic alignment. Her sharp market analysis and business leadership continue to drive the firm’s growth and investor success.
