We've been in the game since 2006!
Since 2006, we’ve built a diversified real estate portfolio spanning single-family, multifamily, and commercial properties, with holdings in Minneapolis, MN and Detroit, MI — and plans to expand into Troy, NY and Hartford, CT by year-end.
Husband and wife physicians, Dr. Omar Awad (ophthalmologist) and Dr. Heather Awad (family medicine), bring a combined wealth of experience in both healthcare and real estate investing. With over 15 years of managing private practice offices and investing in real estate, they understand the financial goals, and time constraints, of high-income professionals.
Omar and Heather are active limited partners in multiple real estate syndications, including:

Multifamily syndication funds
Commercial property syndication funds
Multi-site self-storage
Senior living and memory care facilities
Their passion for real estate and community impact led them to launch Oculus Capital LLC in 2023, focused on syndicating larger multifamily opportunities with a physician-first mindset. They are active members of the physician investing community, including Viking Capital, Titan Mastermind and Black Swan Real Estate. Through their work, they bring not only deep real estate and insurance experience, but a shared vision for investing with purpose.

Omar Awad, MD, FACS is a board-certified ophthalmologist and seasoned real estate investor with a dual focus on clinical excellence and long-term asset growth. He specializes in Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery, and is a partner at Minnesota Eye Consultants. He also serves as President of the Minnesota Eye Foundation, is Medical Director for LasikPlus, and holds academic appointments as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota Medical School and the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.
In addition to his clinical work, Omar serves as the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Oculus Capital LLC, where he leads the company’s strategic vision and investor partnerships. His leadership combines a physician’s attention to detail with a deep commitment to long-term value creation.

Heather Awad, MD is a board-certified family physician, entrepreneur, and real estate investor. As President of Goldenrod Homes and Co-Founder of Oculus Capital LLC, she brings deep experience in private practice management, health coaching, and real estate strategy.
